What is Dropshipping? Finding Dropshippers, Its Advantages and Pitfalls!

Posted in Affiliate Marketing, Drop Shipping on 27.01.09

By : William king
Dropshipping is a type of retailing where the retailer does not keep goods in stock, but instead passes the customer’s order and shipment details to the wholesaler, who then dispatches the goods to the customer directly. The retailer makes their profit on the difference between the wholesale and retail price. Some retailers may still keep “show” items on display in stores, so that customers can inspect an item similar to those that they can purchase. Other retailers may only provide a catalogue or Internet presence.
Drop shipping can occur when a retailer receives a single large order for a product. Rather than route the shipment through the retail store, the retailer will arrange for the goods to be shipped directly to the purchaser.

Let us assume, you purchase an item from a dropshipping site for $20.00. You would sell that item for a price determined by you; let’s use $35.00 plus $4.50 shipping for an example. After you collect the total payment of $39.50 from the customer and their mailing address, you would forward the $20.00 plus $4.50 for shipping to the wholesaler, and keep the $15.00 as profit, never having to touch the product, as the wholesaler ships it out to the customer.

In short, dropshipping is simply selling products for wholesale companies, sending them the address of the person who bought from you, and they ship the product to them. This is an incredible opportunity, most times for the cost of a meal at a restaurant, to start a profitable eBay business.

Many sellers on eBay also drop ship. Naturally a seller will offer an item as new and ship the item directly from the wholesaler to the highest bidder. The seller profits from the difference between the winning bid and the wholesale price, minus any selling fees from eBay.

Finding Dropshippers

Startups and individuals new to the dropshipping world generally face severe difficulty in finding legitimate and authentic dropshipping companies. Several online directories have popped up in recent times on the net which help to make this task easy. Its best online example can be seen by working of the famous online dropshippers directory http://www.aidandtrade.com.

Whilst looking for dropshippers, there is a general misconception that dropshipping companies who charge an initial fee to sign-up and open accounts with them are not considered genuine. Although this might be true in some cases however the reason for charging this fee is that, these companies want to make sure that they are dealing with genuine traders and not individuals merely looking for quick bargains and one off items.

Advantages of Dropshipping

Working with dropship companies has numerous advantages for small companies and individuals looking to earn part time or even full time income. Following are some of its benefits.

- The dropshipper researches for products and provides their lists/catalogues of available items at trade prices - one can sell any of these items by any method they wish.
- The dropshipper acts on the order - Only when the item has been sold and the payment has been received, the dropshipper is asked to fulfil the order.
- The dropshipper packages the orders – No packaging costs are involved at the end of the seller.
- The dropshipper sends the orders out direct to the customer – No delivery costs and efforts are associated with the seller
- The dropshipper is transparent to the customer - As far as the customer is concerned their purchase has come directly from the seller.
- The dropshipper holds all the stock – No warehouse or storage issues at the end of the seller
- All the seller has to do is concentrate on sales and marketing and banking the profits!

Dropshipping Pitfalls

While it is true that the profits can be gigantic, the seller effectively has to rely on the goodwill and professionalism of the dropshipper/wholesaler. Eventually, one should always keep in mind that should the deal go raw (for instance, the dropshipper supplying a faulty product or a downright incorrect one), it will be the seller’s reputation that will take hit. The end buyer cares nothing for whether the seller used a dropshipper or not; all they truly care about is receiving the product that they paid for. For that reason, dealing with unconfirmed dropshippers can be risky.

Additionally, profit margins can be low when working with smaller dropshipping companies. Typically the biggest discounts from manufacturers go to larger volume resellers who further pass their discounts to sole traders and individuals. Using smaller dropshipping companies one might end up paying much more per unit of product than by contacting manufacturers direct. Most manufacturers refuse to deal with individuals, but many will offer low volume quantities at wholesale price. For a fast selling product it could be worthwhile buying small quantities directly from the manufacturers.

Making the best of search and social media for achieving optimal results

Posted in Affiliate Marketing, Blogging, Social Media, Why Work from Home? on 26.01.09

Social Media Strategies for Travel Special

It is imperative for travel companies to assess how frequently they need to update official web content so that when consumers re-check the suppliers’ sites they get authentic information.

This is gaining importance especially when the industry is using social media monitoring solutions to track and analyse all forms of social media, including blog sites, top video-sharing sites and opinion review forums.

Evaluating the same, Scott McNeely, director of consumer & affiliate web, Viator Inc., recommends that travel suppliers should constantly update content.

“Not just for the benefit of travel consumers - because even the most loyal travel customers are not logging on expecting daily or even weekly updates in most cases. Instead, it’s for the search engines,” said McNeely, who is scheduled to speak during Social Media Strategies for Travel USA 2009 Conference, scheduled to take place in San Francisco on March 10-11.

“If you want to rank for important keywords, you need to invest in fresh relevant content. This is an expensive undertaking. Which is why UGC (user-generated content) and social media play critical roles. Travel suppliers will have a hard time finding lower-cost or more relevant content channels than UGC and social media. I think most travel suppliers have been slow to embrace this thinking.”

Speaking with EyeforTravel.com’s Ritesh Gupta, McNeely shared his viewpoint regarding combining search and social media to drive traffic to a site, a topic about which he is scheduled to present during the conference, too.

On the best way to approach social search marketing: Travel suppliers typically have a massive, yet untapped asset in their existing customers. So they should start by focusing on developing a relationship with email, user reviews, user photos, video. If they don’t show current and future customers that they’re serious about being a social travel hub, it will be difficult to expand their new customer acquisition.

Success must be measured by whatever metrics already drive your business – e-comm sites should increase sales, media sites should increase page views, etc. Too often people assume ’success’ in travel social media means something other than supporting your core business. It doesn’t.

On travel companies not reviewing Web 2.0/Social Media as part of a comprehensive Internet marketing and distribution strategy, together with website re-designs and optimisations, search marketing, email marketing, strategic linking, online sponsorships and display advertising: Many travel companies don’t have the resources or confidence to think holistically.

All too often they jump from one bolt-on quick-fix to the next. A successful social strategy needs to be built into the DNA of the business. This is hard to do, which is why many travel companies fail.

On ensuring social media choices generate significant - and valuable - incremental website traffic: Many travel companies assume they need a William Shatner-style campaign (a la Priceline) or a massively popular Facebook application. In other words, only a huge breakthrough has the potential to quickly scale website traffic. Yet this is not how it works for 99 percent of travel companies.

Instead, imagine increasing traffic to your top 500 keywords or top 50 landing pages by 15 - 25 percent. That’s what success actually looks like for the most of us. Which means, first, you need to understand what drives success in your business. The sounds like Business 101, but you’d be surprised how many companies use social media to accomplish dozens of goals except to support their underlying business.

On how to feature rich online experiences so that photos and videos help a business climb higher in the search engine rankings: Personally I don’t think you can survive in the travel space for much longer without a UGC and social strategy.

It’s no longer a question of “if” you go down this path, but a question of “what” and “how quickly”. Google has said that 2 of every 10 searches are for images, and that number is growing. Images have always been a fantastic tool for selling travel – that isn’t changing, in fact it’s becoming even more important to have a scalable image strategy for your website. It’s a similar story with video.

Affiliate Marketing At Its Best

Posted in Work from Home Questions on 24.01.09

From FrankYoung.net

Most people, when they begin a work at home business, first consider affiliate marketing as a method for generating an income. This is of course is one of the best places to start. There are a lot of perks that come with affiliate marketing. However, there is also a big misconception that it is the easiest thing a work at home beginner will ever do. It isnt, not unless you consider these tips.

You need a served market. Not all markets are goldmines. There are a lot of underserved markets out there and theyre that way for a reason- there is no money in them. In order to be profitable you need to locate potential niche markets and market affiliate products to them. You also have to determine the profit potential of that market before you get in. One way to determine if there is profit potential is to examine if an affiliate product already exists in the niche you are targeting. You can do this by searching at ClickBank marketplace. Look over existing products and see if there is a profitable affiliate program in place.

You need a list. Many affiliates assume that because they are promoting someone elses product, rather than their own, they dont need to connect with people. Nothing could be further from the truth. You need a list, because the money is in the list. But creating a list is only half the work you should have a relationship with your subscribers. The real profits are in the relationship you have with your list. Its a myth that your list has to be massive in order to be a super affiliate (although it is helpful), its how responsive your list is that makes the real difference.

You need to create a direct response. One of the most effective methods to creating affiliate commissions is to set up a simple direct response website to market your chosen affiliate program. This is called an affiliate leads response page. You want to have just one page for this site so that your visitor does not get distracted with anything else.

It should contain an opt-in page and a redirect to the affiliate sales page. This setup will allow you to
capture leads and to make profits from your website over and over.

Follow up with your leads. You will need an auto responder to feed your customers high quality content that they cant wait to devour. Your content should educate and build a relationship with your prospective customers. You can create a 7 day mini e-course or a monthly newsletter. Map out a schedule for your content.

Actively promote your lead capture page. You need send to traffic to your website, without it you have no business. Dont promote for a week or two and expect to generate a massive response. Many affiliates dont promote as hard as they should. You want to get to as many targeted visitors as possible to your leads capture page. This means getting in front of as many people as possible as often as possible. You can do this with Google adwords, articles, and getting active in forums. The more your out there the better.

Affiliate marketing is a great place to start for a work at home beginner but dont get caught up in the appeal of promoting other peoples products for a commission. Affiliate marketing like any other marketing method is work. Done correctly, however, it can produce a passive income for any looking to work from home.

Are Social Media Experts Ruining Twitter?

Posted in Twitter on 24.01.09

Over at Fanboy.com, Michael Pinto laments the volume of social media tweets and tweeple he’s coming across on the popular social network, Twitter. He is frustrated about the constant stream of social media dribble that self-proclaimed social media gurus and experts put forth in their tweets. He says they autofollow and soon have upwards of 5,000 followers and followees alike.

I feel his pain.

However, there’s a simple solution. Don’t follow these people.

Pinto calls the social media gurus a “cancer” to Twitter. If that’s the case, then Pinto should conduct a debulking surgery to remove as much of the tumor in his Twitter stream as possible. Then he should take preventative measures to avoid a recurrence in the future by not following these tweeple in the first place.

In fact, Twitter is nothing like having cancer (believe me!) and more like being in high school (believe me!). Pinto is sitting at the popular kids table and the conversation is shallow. The most popular people on Twittter are determined by vain methods found on grading websites that use things like number of followers as a crucial factor of someone’s Twitter power.

I recommend sitting with the nerds instead. After all, the mind is a terrible thing to waste. And using “auto-follow” to participate on Twitter requires few brain cells indeed.

Affiliate Marketing Starter Guide

Posted in Affiliate Marketing on 21.01.09

Posted by Charles on January 11th, 2009

affiliate-marketing-starter-guide.jpg

Here at PiggyBankPie we’ve only touched on affiliate marketing briefly previously when we interviewed Affiliate Student. However, as I now actually work in affiliate marketing we‘ll start to cover more affiliate marketing topics, particularly as it’s one of the best ways to make money online. There are no stock issues, product lines or customer enquiries to worry about. With affiliate marketing it’s just you and your site.

Affiliate marketing is certainly big business. Back in 2006, according to MarketingSherpa, it was predicted that affiliates worldwide would earn over $6.5 billion in commission. You can safely assume that this was close to $10 billion last year, although I wouldn’t be surprised if this figure wasn’t actually surpassed.

Why Try Out Affiliate Marketing?

The great thing about affiliate marketing is that you can dip your toe in the water without getting burnt. It doesn’t cost much money to try it out and only once you discover a program which converts well do you have to commit to spending a larger chunk of money. Even then, you can always choose to stay on the low cost promotion route.

There are also a huge number of niches out there, so although there are numerous affiliates across the internet as a whole, there are still many low competition niches where money can be earned.

Affiliate marketing also offers the ability of earning a residual income. Once you own a highly optimized site you can often earn continual recurring income without much additional work. And as was mentioned above… you don’t have to worry about checking emails from customers or faulty products. You simply generate the sales and receive commission. Everything else is dealt with by the merchant.

The Language

  • Affiliates / Publishers - these are those people who promote affiliate programs and are the ones who earned $6.5 billion in commission back in 2006. Typically Affiliates create websites around specific niches, before promoting them and receiving commission from any sales generated.
  • Merchants / Advertisers - these are the companies who want affiliates to promote their affiliate programs. Perhaps the highest profile merchant of them all is Amazon, with over 100,000 affiliates worldwide.
  • Affiliate Networks - these networks sit between the Affiliate and the Merchant. They typically create the tracking links, track sales and pay commissions to Affiliates. Merchants use Affiliate Networks for their independent tracking and large database of Affiliates, although some Merchants, such as Amazon with their Amazon Associates program, choose to keep their affiliate program in-house.

Strategies

Typically, you can promote affiliate programs through two main strategies:

  • Direct-To-Merchant (DTM) - this is the simplest way to promote an affiliate program. It involves sending traffic directly to the Merchant’s website through advertising on search engines. The majority of affiliate programs don’t allow this but some high profile sites do, including Amazon.
  • Through Own Website - the usual way to promote affiliate programs is to set up a website, add affiliate links, and promote the site, often through PPC and SEO. The advantages of this approach are that you’re creating a site with real value and you can receive free traffic from search engines. The downside is that this approach does tend to be more time-consuming, although if you’re looking to set up basic affiliate sites then an excellent website builder is Moonfruit which we reviewed recently.

A third strategy, email marketing, can be used but its effectiveness is in decline and it tends to only work well when the list is build up internally through the use of a website.

Types of Affiliate Sites

  • Comparison Sites - think PriceRunner.co.uk which earns its money through users clicking on its links and making purchases elsewhere. Consumers online are often price conscious and looking for the best deal, which is where price comparison sites come in.
  • Voucher Sites - this is a massive growth area with consumers frequently searching online for a voucher code before making a purchase.
  • Simple Landing Pages - these usually involve finding a high converting affiliate program, building a basic website, buying traffic through PPC, with the aim of sending visitors straight on to the Merchant’s site. Google’s Quality Score has made this more tricky but it can certainly still be done.
  • Content Sites & Blogs - this involves building up a large readership before integrating relevant affiliate links and offers.
  • Product Review Websites - these work for products which people research before purchasing, such as electronics, and typically work best when combined with a price comparison service.
  • Email Newsletter Affiliates - by renting an email list or building one yourself you can then promote relevant affiliate offers to the database. With email response rates dropping over recent years and the increase of spam this is one technique which I’d tend to avoid (unless it‘s a list of subscribers from your own site).
  • Cashback Sites - similar to voucher sites except that they split commissions earned between themselves and their members.

How To Start

The best way is to head over to one of the affiliate networks, such as Commission Junction or TradeDoubler, and see what programs are available to promote. Programs can be sorted according to Earnings Per Click (EPC) or Conversion rates so you can quickly view the high performing sites and sectors.

If you haven’t already then I’d also recommend checking out the forum Affiliates4u where a huge number of Affiliates and Merchants participate.

Dropship Suppliers: Finding a Directory of True Dropshippers

Posted in Drop Shipping, Why Work from Home? on 21.01.09

Posted by: Mike Davis  :  Category: Online Businesses
by Quentin Beckenbauer

Using a dropshipper offers anyone looking to get into Internet retail the easiest point of entry. Drop shipping is where your customer places an order with you, pays for the product, and then you place the order with the dropshipper, who then ships the item to your paying customer. With drop shipping, you never take ownership of the products.

Even though using a dropshipper is one of the easiest ways to get started selling online, the hardest part about dropshipping is finding reputable dropshippers. Many so-called dropshippers are not what they seem and you would do good by avoiding them, so finding a quality supplier can be difficult.

There are many directories available online that claim to show you to wholesale suppliers, as well as drop shipping companies, but most of them are a waste of money. They either have old information, send you to dropshippers that will do you wrong, or just point you to drop ship companies that are of no use to you.

It is difficult to find not only dropshippers, but also it is hard to find a decent directory showing you good dropshippers. When in the market for a dropship directory, you have to be very careful and be aware of what you are purchasing before you spend the money that is so hard earned.

It is extremely important to purchase a directory from a reputable company. They have to be willing to stand behind their product, be constantly updating it and be willing to offer quality customer support.

Make sure the directory you are buying is full of information that you can use to find a reputable drop ship company. There should be a bunch of company contact information in the dropshipper directory you end up getting.

You need a dropshipper directory that will help you find suppliers that are willing to work with you, the online retailer. You do not need to waste your money on directories that are full of junk companies that you would be crazy to deal with.

Do your due diligence before you purchase a drop shipping company directory. Do an Internet search for drop shipping directories and do your research. You owe it to yourself to ensure that you purchase the most thorough, information filled drop ship directory that is available.

HOW TO: Use Twitter on the Go

Posted in Twitter, Work from Home Questions on 19.01.09

January 18, 2009 - 1:32 pm PDT - by Matt Singley

on-the-goMatt Singley is a business process advisor that focuses on social media and UGC sociology. He authors a blog at Singley’s Blog Thoughts. You can find him on Twitter here.

We’ve written about some very specific applications for different mobile devices, and now we want to tell you how to be a power Twitter user on any mobile device with a browser, and how to post your tweets safely and hands free while on the go.

Chances are your mobile phone has a web browser, and now there are several sites that allow you to manage your Twitter account directly within the browser, no downloading of applications required!  This is certainly great news for the non-iPhone users that get tired of seeing all the great apps released for the iPhone.

Browser based Twitter services

dabrDabr - Based in the United Kingdom, this open source project is one of the fastest and easiest to navigate on my phone.  Their about page tells us what they are built upon…the users.  They value feedback and make constant improvements based upon what the community is saying. An excellent bonus feature is the use of pics as thumbnails in the timeline, not just links to Twitpic or Flickr.

Slandr - Not just a browser based Twitter client, but they also offer to make back channels for conferences so you can talk about the speaker while they are doing their thing.  Slandr also has the nice feature of showing thumbnail previews of pictures in the timeline, but the navigation is challenging at times.  The links for replies and direct messages are so small I often end up clicking to a place I don’t want to go.

Twistat Mobile - Although it doesn’t have the prettiest GUI, it certainly boasts some of the most unique features.  One click can make somebody in your line a “tweetheart,” hide a person’s updates or open up an email message with the tweet already pasted into the body, ready to send to your contacts.

Tweete - A very crisp, clean GUI, although the cleanliness does remove some features I like, such as seeing avatars in the timeline.  I didn’t realize how dependent I have become on scanning the stream of tweets for a user pic until I started using this mobile version.  It has the usual buttons you would expect for full Twitter function, but nothing more.  If you want fast and clean, this is a great option.

Twitter Mobile - Twitter’s official mobile site.  Although I love the Twitter engine, the mobile site is pretty bare bones in what it can do.  I visit this most often when I’m clicking a link out of my email telling me that somebody new is following me; it’s easy enough to click the “follow” button in their profile then exit out.

Hands free tweeting while on the road

jottMany places, like my homestate of California, have enacted laws that make it illegal to text or type in any manner while driving.  Of course I’m sure it’s the safest course of action, but naturally it creates a bit of a problem for people like me that need to constantly update Twitter.  Fortunately there are a few excellent, hands-free options for tweeting in the form of voice-to-text technologies.

SpinVox and Ping.fm - This partnership launched at the end of 2008 and I have been using it steadily ever since. Simply sign up for a free account at Ping.fm, and you will be given a unique phone number that you can call and speak your message to.  It’s quick, it’s free, and it’s legal.

The transcription is pretty accurate, although sometimes words do get changed.  It takes just a few minutes to post to your Twitter account, and it also optionally posts a link to the original voice message.  SpinVox and Ping.fm don’t just update Twitter, you can also link to and update almost 20 other social networks like Facebook, LinkedIn and even Mashable!

Jott - Similar to the SpinVox/Ping.fm service, Jott converts voice to text on the fly with many extras.  Unfortunately they recently announced that they will no longer be offering their basic free service. The starting tier is still reasonably priced at $3.95/month and offers other perks such as integration with Outlook and voice to notes.

Using these services, you can keep tweeting wherever you are and whatever you’re doing.  How do you update and stay in touch when on the go? Let us know in the comments.

Who Else Wants to Make Money Online With the Winning Mindset?

Posted in Affiliate Marketing, Why Work from Home?, Work from Home with MLM on 18.01.09

United States of America (PRESS RELEASE) Jan 19, 2009 –

Many have asked me what the key to earning money online successfully is. This is not an easy question to answer in terms of what you can do to earn money online. There are a thousand and one ways to earn money online successfully but are they really the keys to success? Unfortunately, the methods to earn money online are less significant than the mindset behind it.

What really differentiates the winning online marketers from the losing is very much not what they do but what drives them in their actions. Anyone can try and experiment with a myriad of ways to earn money online but ultimately without a winning mindset, they will never succeed.

Then what are the qualities of a winning mindset to earn money online successfully? Well, the following are considered the key pillars of a winning mindset.

1. Desire.
The fuel to succeed online is pretty much fired by what you want to gain in the end. What do you want to achieve in the end? Is it financial freedom? Or do you to want to have more time to spend with your family? Maybe you don’t want to be very rich; you just want to earn a little extra income to lift the financial burden of the family. Or maybe you hate your job and you hate your boss and you hope to one day “fire” him and be your own boss. Whatever the reason may be, you must have a strong desire to earn money online successfully, because this is what determines your motivation and is the main source of your strength. So know what you want to achieve in the end and let this be the fuel of your success.

2. Focus
There are truckloads of ways to earn money online. You can be an affiliate marketer and sell other people’s products. You can join an online MLM business opportunity and build your income from there. You can even offer your own services or products to others for a price. But whichever method you choose, it all comes down to focusing your efforts.

From the moment you step into the world of earning money online, you expose yourself to a myriad of business opportunities. They come fast and hard and they never seem to stop. Every day, there can be a new business opportunity to earn money online that seems like the “next big thing”. And you will be tempted to “jump in before it is too late”. But the sad truth is, business opportunitieshttp://www.adsenselover.com” will never run out, but the amount of time we have will. Each of us only has 24 hours a day and we can only do so much. What you need to earn money online successfully is not to jump in on the “next big thing” but to focus on “this big thing”. You do not need so many “big things”, you only need one. So focus your efforts on what you set your sight on and give it your best. You will not regret it.

3. Patience
Many people who first begin to try to earn money online believe that they can do it fast and easy. They think that if they try something that promises them that they will earn money online successfully, they can do it in a few days to a few weeks. And if they do not succeed, the method is wrong and they give up. Sadly, this is not how it works. It is true that there are plenty of scams out there that only want to cheat you of your hard-earned cash. However, most of the time, the reason for failure is simply the lack of patience. Gathering knowledge and applying it is a necessity to earn money online. All these take time and nothing comes without it. Be patient with what you believe in and your efforts will be rewarded.

4. Willingness to take massive action and commit consistently
Finally, armed with a flaming desire to succeed, laser targeted focus on your objective and a rock-solid patience to carry it to the end, you still need the last crucial ingredient to success. You need to take HUGE MASSIVE action and be willing to commit consistently. Your mindset alone cannot win the battle for you. You must be willing to put in your biggest effort to make it a success and commit to doing it consistently, because only with MASSIVE action can you achieve MASSIVE results.

Now, take some time to review what you have done up till now. Do you have a burning desire to succeed? Have you been focusing your efforts and resisting the temptation to join whatever new opportunity that comes along? Have you been patient enough to continue what you are doing and promise yourself never to give up? And finally, are you taking MASSIVE action to turn your dream into a reality? If your answer is a resounding “YES”, then there is no doubt that you will be able to earn money online successfully.

How Does Drop Shipping Work?

Posted in Drop Shipping on 17.01.09

The idea of drop shipping is that you can be a sort of salesperson for a businessperson, whether wholesaler of manufacturer who doesn’t want to take on the additional responsibility of being a merchandiser as well. You instead act as a distributor for them, with the company winning by getting orders out to customers - this saves the company the time and effort of marketing their products and you the bother of warehousing them and dealing with inventories and shipping. This is a good deal for everyone involved.

There are drop shipping opportunities accessible for just about any product you can think of. Try not to get carried away by the many options out there and instead just pick a few high calibre items to sale. This will keep you from losing focus or becoming overwhelmed by the fees embroiled in selling on eBay. You can then test the saleability of the item before devoting yourself to merchandising a product nobody wants.

This is also how you may approach a drop shipping Partner Company. Don’t go with the first company you find that meets your wants; you should shop around for the most beneficial deal out there before you make your decision. Of course, any authorised drop shipping company will also be monitoring your transactions.

The manufacturers will probably ask you some questions about you and your business, including your Tax ID number. You will be your business as a sole ownership unless you take the steps to register your business as a firm. As a sole proprietorship, your friendly surety number will be your tax ID. You will, unless you merged (which means working with one or two other people) be accountable if anything happens, it also means that you could get into running your business straightaway without filling out any forms or jumping through any hoops with the government.

Find the Right Manufacturers and Wholesalers to Do Business With

The hardest part of choosing a drop shipping enterprise is finding companies who are reliable to do business with. There a re a lot of shady, fly by nighttimes operators out there who are forever on the lounge hoping to take advantage of people who want to go into business for themselves. You should be real aware when taking a drop shipping partner; be sure to do your research first.

When there are some companies which carry eBay’s stamp of acceptance, you are more than likely to find that they already have all of their products on eBay with other drop shippers representing them. You should be sure to look into any drop shipping company you are involved in and find drop shippers to function with. If you go with the eBay approved drop shippers, you might find yourself with small margins - and perhaps lose money!

Not all drop shippers are created equal, even if they carry similar products. When you find a company which seems interested in doing drop shipping for you, you should look into how long the company has been in operation and how long they have been doing drop shipping. You might find that you are the first company they have ever drop shipped! There might be a possibility for making outstanding profits this way; but the risks are also great.

Don’t be shy about asking questions and try to find out how the company processes and ships orders - too evaluate the professionalism of the company. If they are sociable with answers and get right back to you when you have questions, this is a good clue. They may also be able to inform you precisely what products they transact and which they are susceptible of drop shipping for you.

Four Models of Successful Internet Business Sites!
Stuart Elwell

One of the best methods of learning how to succeed in your Internet business is to first find a successful site to model your business on.

Over the years I have studied many successful web sites to try to find out what it is that is making them a successful Internet business. And not just in one particular field, but many fields, from the many different types of websites out there. Next time you view an Internet site that you know is very successful, stop for a moment to try and decipher why it is so successful.

You will find successful sites on just about any subject matter you care to think about. There seems to be no barrier to developing a successful site in any field. You name it, people are probably making money out of their website in that specialized area.

Just about anything, if planned appropriately, can be sold online. If you want to be successful too, why not look for examples of businesses which have already achieved the success you would like, and model your business after that, i.e. play follow the leader.

It would be too much information to try and describe every single model of success, but I would like to introduce you to just four model websites which keep springing up. Sites that are obviously benefiting from being a successful online business model.

Look at these models to see if you are on your way to becoming just like that type of business.

Model No.1 - Opt-In List Builder

This is a good model to build your site around by providing a free newsletter or ezine. If you are building a mailing list this way, then you must provide high quality information to your list on a weekly or monthly basis. Never send just ads or useless information. If your newsletter is just an excuse to push ads you can be certain it will not grow. On the contrary, your subscribers will opt-out quicker than you can replace them, and youll probably not make any sales anyway. Learn how to write effective testimonials instead of blatant ads. These should be a small part of informative articles. They should fit in nicely and naturally along with this information, indeed be a part of it! Once your list gets into the thousands, you should start to see an almost guaranteed income. Continue to use your website to build your list up each month and watch your monthly income grow alongside it.

It can be an effective way to create income, but you have to be willing and able to write a weekly or monthly newsletter. It doesnt have to be long, in fact it shouldnt be. But it does have to be informative. If you hate writing this may not be the route for you.

Model No.2 - Free Services

There are many services on the Internet that people like to use, or even desperately need. Examples include such services as providing an autoresponder service, traffic generating services, providing free webspace, reciprocal link checking etc. Sites which provide something valuable for free can often become extremely popular. Once this popularity is achieved, and you start getting a lot of daily traffic, then you can start to charge for allowing advertising on your site. Youre probably thinking something like “how could I possibly provide such a valuable free service, surely you need lots of programming knowledge and experience to run such a thing”. In reality it isnt that difficult. All you need is the right pre-written script to add to your website. Have a look here: http://www.cgi-resources.com. This website provides many CGI programs, many of which are low or NO cost. Some of their scripts could make great traffic generators for you if you use them on your site in a highly relevant fashion.

One of the biggest advantages of this web business model is you dont necessarily have to pay for any advertising. A good press release might be all you need, particularly if you are providing something unique. The hard part is coming up with a good idea. But if you can, because you are providing a valuable free service, word of mouth can get round very fast.

Model No.3 - One Product Page

If you have a hot product that you want to sell, then create a good sales page and focus all of your marketing efforts towards bringing that page to peoples attention. When you present just one choice at your site, you decrease any distraction which may come from offering multiple alternative pages.

Getting interested people to click through to this web page can produce excellent profits, but this is also the hard part. You will probably have to pay for all of your traffic so a well thought through pay-per-click campaign may be your best choice for this business model.

Model No.4 - Affiliate Programs

A popular website model for new webmasters is to create a site that catalogs many different but hopefully related products within their site. To do this you will either need a number of different affiliate programs to sign up with, or youll need to join an affiliate network such as Commission Junction or Clickbank. These bring a huge number of affiliate programs together - under one roof as it were i.e. all available through the same intermediate provider.

In order to make this work you have to develop a specialized site. It needs to be an information source primarily, but definitely not a sales pitch. Your visitors will want to be provided with up to date information related to their subject of interest which brought them to your site in the first place.

You have an unlimited array of possible subjects to choose from, but you should opt for something that interests yourself very much. This way youll have no problem deciding what other people with the same interest will want to read, learn or talk about.

Within this context you can then have recommended products directly related to whatever you think people will be interested in, so long as it is genuinely related and of value to your readers. If your visitors value your site and are interested in your opinion you will make sales.

The real beauty of developing this kind of site is you can potentially do very well in the search engines, and that can provide you with a lot of free traffic. I have provided lots of information to help you with this at my site; http://www.websmart-marketing.com. Working your pages around popular keywords is how its done, and when people type these words into their favorite engine, you want your site to come out as close the number one spot as possible.

Each of these website business models represents a possible online business for you. Can you integrate the one which interests you the most in with your favorite hobby or pastime What do you enjoy doing the most What do you like to think about when you have the free time. Whatever this is, theres probably a wide audience of people with the same interest. Why not build them a website they can visit. You could find it relatively easy to make money at the same time.

Best wishes for your future.
